UE 241D Inverter Drive Power Failure Repair – South East of England

Dugard VMC1300 With HEIDENHAIN TNCi530 Control, Drives & Motors – UE 241D Inverter Drive Power Failure Repair

EEC Ltd were contacted by a customer in the South-East of England, experiencing a power failure fault on a CNC Mill. The fault was isolated to a motor/drive power failure issue on the Dugard VMC1300 3 axis CNC mill, fitted with HEIDENHAIN TNCi530 control, drives and motors.

We attended swiftly with an exchange UE 241D inverter drive. Prior to installation of the inverter drive, we diode tested the UE and Megger tested the 3 axis, spindle motors and motor power cables. These checks were carried out as a health check, but also to prove balance, shorts and any leakage, and these tested fine. The external PW210 spindle braking resistor was also checked for balance and short, this was proven to be fully functional too.

Our engineers were happy with the condition of the machine and proceeded to exchange the UE 241D without any issues. We backed up the customer’s control, ran the machine program as a test and departed with the customer pleased with the work, and was able to continue working with the Dugard mill setup.
