The HEIDENHAIN TNC 640 is capable of milling, and combined milling and turning operations. The HEIDENHAIN TNC 640 is a smart choice for milling-turning, HSC and 5-axis machining on machines with up to 18 axes. The control is workshop-oriented and versatile in nature, featuring numerous accessible functions. It is particularly suited to the following applications:
- Universal milling machines & centres
- Combined milling-turning machines & centres
- High speed milling machines
- Five-axis machining centres with swivel head and rotary table
- Five-axis machining on very large machines (large/heavy machining)
- Boring mills
- Machining centers and automated machining
The user-friendly and optimised user interface of the HEIDENHAIN TNC 640 provides an efficient and fast overview: intuitive color coding, standardised table editors and smartSelect – a dialog-guided quick-access selection of functions to assist your work flow.
The HEIDENHAIN TNC 640 features optimised motion control, short block processing times and special control strategies. Together with uniform digital design and integrated digital drive control – including inverters, the HEIDENHAIN TNC 640 enables you to reach very high machining speeds. It also delivers the best possible contour accuracy – particularly when machining 3-D contours on complex geometric components.
Programming turning contours is intuitive with the TNC 640, using familiar HEIDENHAIN plain language, simplicity & user friendly design. Further more, operators have access to typical contour elements for turning (recesses, undercuts, thread undercuts) as well as cycles for complex turning operations.
HEIDENHAIN TNC 640 – Multi-touch operation
The TNC 640 is available in the conventional version with screen and keyboard as well as with touch screen and keyboard. Whether zooming with two fingers, rotating or moving, you can operate the TNC 640 quickly and easily by fingertip control.
HEIDENHAIN TNC 640 – Easy to operate
For simple work, such as face milling or face turning, there is no need to write a program on the TNC 640. It is just as easy to operate the machine manually by pressing the axis keys or – for maximum sensitivity, using the electronic handwheel.
HEIDENHAIN TNC 640 – Offline program creation
The TNC 640 can be programmed remotely with ease. The Ethernet interface guarantees very short transfer times, even when transferring long programs.
