Spindle Probe Updates to a Range of 10 to 20 Year Old Machining Centres
EEC provide a wealth of upgrade options to existing machining centres and CNC/TNC machinery. We install digital readouts into legacy systems and other upgrades such as linear and rotary scales and of course, spindles probes.
A recent install involved the installation of 7 replacement Heidenhain TS 642 & TS 460 spindle probes, and calibrated into a range of 10 to 20 year old machining centres, with the outcome of increased productivity and performance.
The CNC spindle probe upgrades were carried out 1 at a time, during an agreed period with the customer in order to minimise downtime, and we recently and successfully completed the final install.
Both the TS 460 and TS 642 are wireless workpiece touch probes with the following specifications
TS 642 Wireless Touch Probe
- High probing accuracy of down to ±5 µm (with the T404 standard stylus)
- High probing repeatability for very high measurement quality: down to 2 σ ≤ 1 µm
- Infrared signal transmission
- Interface: HTL
- Protection rating: IP68

TS 460 Wireless Touch Probe
- High probing accuracy: ±5 µm (with the T404 standard stylus)

- Radio or infrared signal transmission (does not interefere with tool touch probe)

- Interfaces: HTL or EnDat 2.2 (via transceiver unit)
